Racing Meeting 4th February
We propose to hold a Racing Meeting on Saturday 4th February at 1330hrs to discuss the 2012 Racing Programme.
There are a number of new boats in the CHPSC fleet this season with three confirmed J109's, a new Elan 350 and a suggestion of other boats to follow - in addition to the existing fleet.
It promises to be a great competitive season and it is important that we provide the racing that the competitors want.
A draft copy of the programme is available here - this is a discussion document and should be seen as a starting point only.
Other items to discuss will be the Election Of Racing Officers, Sailing Instructions, Sponsorship, Rating Issues (IRC - PYS), Race Courses and Marks, ISORA, Race prizes and entry fees, Socials and après racing, crew availability lists.
We aim to provide racing for all levels of capability including first timers and with a mix of round the cans, long bay races and regatta races with committee boat starts - something for everyone in a friendly uncomplicated environment but you must tell us what you want.
Please let me know if anything else should be discussed so that we can prepare an agenda.
Please circulate this to anyone who may be interested in racing; members and non - members, skippers and crew and those who have not yet been allocated a berth on a racing yacht - this could be a chance to meet up with skippers looking for crew. All welcomed.
The meeting will be held in the committee room on the first floor of CHPSC and is scheduled to start at 1330hrs. We hope to complete the formal part of the afternoon in time so that those who want to watch the rugby can do so. (Rugby starts at 1530hrs France v Italy then Scotland v England at 1700hrs). There will also be plenty of time to compare notes and strategies and generally to talk about boats and racing!
If you can't attend but wish to make representations on any aspect of racing please do so by replying to this e-mail.
Good Sailing
Stephen Tudor Hon Sec.
