Frank Cammas
The French are back - A French campaign led by offshore specialist Franck Cammas was confirmed in early November for the next two editions of the Volvo Ocean Race. The project will have the backing of Groupama Insurance Group. This is the first French entry since Eric Tabarly skippered La Poste to third place in 1993-94.
New Rule 2011-12
2011-12 Rule breaks new ground - Technical cost containment, improved safety and reliability, closer competition and maintaining the Volvo Open 70's status as the most spectacular offshore monohull are at the heart of the 2011-12 Volvo Open 70 Rule and Notice of Race, which was released at the beginning of October.
Giovanni Soldini.
Soldini signs on - An Italian campaign led by Italian offshore sailor, Giovanni Soldini was officially confirmed for the 2011-12 Race in October. Known as Italia 70, the team will race under the 'il tricolore' with an all-Italian crew for the next two editions of the race. Click here for the full story.
Spanish Castle to White Night.
Spanish Castle to White Night - Our official book of 2008-09 was published this month and is already the best selling Volvo Ocean Race book. It's the perfect gift for this holiday season. The book/DVD is available for order here. Or if you'd prefer to own just the DVD by itself click here.
Book Competition.
Spanish Castle to White Night Competition - See if you can win an early Christmas present with our book competition where we have six copies to give away. Answer the three questions on the Volvo Ocean Race website for a chance to win a copy. The competition runs until midnight GMT on Thursday 26 November.
The Twilight Saga.
The Twilight Saga: New Moon XC60 Competition - Based on the books by Stephenie Meyer, this vampire love story features teenage vampire Edward, who's fallen for a human. To mark the new Volvo XC60's starring role in the film, Volvo Cars have created a new interactive online challenge.

Complete all the puzzles in the six phases of the "What Drives Edward contest" and you could win your very own brand new Volvo XC60. The game ends on 22 November 2009 and is only valid for entrants from the US, Canada, France, Germany and UK.
Best of wishes for a happy holiday season,
From the Volvo Ocean Race team
