Welsh National Sailing Academy (WNSA) receives LOCOG Olympic Legacy equipment. Tim Hall, RYA Competition Manager delivers sets of Championship race marks for use by the National Academy in Pwllheli.
The WNSA is a recognised by the RYA as one of the 4 UK events Academies.
Pwllheli has a great track record of hosting Nationals and International Regattas, and The Marks will be used in various Championships. Volunteers and Staff have used these marks before when running one of the Race courses at the London 2012 Olympic games at Weymouth and Portland last summer.
Handover of the marks kit took place at Plas Menai, National Water Sports Centre who is working closely with WNSA.
Gareth Roberts, Pwllheli Sailing Club Events Manager commented “This is fantastic help for us to be able to run another Race Course in Tremadog Bay, and will make it easier to run a combined 420 and 470 Europeans this coming summer. It’s great to see Olympic legacy equipment coming to Wales.”
