Dear Pwllheli Sailing Club member - we need your help!

The WYA is currently working to achieve the Preliminary Level of the Equality Standard for Sport – www.equalityinsport.org for further information.

As part of this process we have to collect equality monitoring information to create a profile of the people involved in our sport from paid staff and coaches to volunteer board and committee members, race management officials and coordinators as well as a sample of our total club membership. This survey will only take you a few minutes to complete but will be very valuable to us.

This work is being carried out as part of our responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010 and as part of the accreditation process for the Equality Standard for Sport. Without this data, it will not be possible to identify any current areas of under-representation or potential inequalities, and as such, it will make it much more difficult for us to tackle these issues.

How your personal information will be treated;

Your Responses will be treated in the strictest confidence, in line with the principles of the Data Protection Act 1998. This means that:

• Your information will be stored securely with restricted access;
• Information will be anonymous (this means that there will be no way in which you can be identified), there is nowhere on the form that asks for your name; and
• Information will be combined in the form of summary report which will be reported to our Board and used as part of the portfolio of evidence that we will submit for the Equality Standard assessment.

To complete the survey on line please follow the link - https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/WYASurveyAugust2013

The survey does only take two minutes and if you would rather not complete some of the questions there is an option to decline. Can you please complete the survey by no later than the 6th of September. If you would prefer a paper copy or a Welsh language version, please let me know.

Thank you very much for helping us progress this important area of work
