The Pwllheli Sailing Club Bar in Plas Heli has been voted the best sailors bar in the World - joint with Pier View Bar Cowes. Wight Vodka sponsored the vote and informed us of the result on New Year's Eve. We are informed that there were over 20,000 votes and that we received over 41% of the vote.
Pwllheli Sailing Club Commodore, Bob Lowe, said ' .. this is fantastic news. To be nominated in the top ten was a great surprise but to actually be voted the 'Best in the World' is just amazing. I would like to thank everyone who voted for us and I am sure that the new facility will grow in popularity and all indications are that we will have a great 2016'
The CHPSC Bar in Plas Heli opened for the first time in July and hosted seven international sailing events with competitors from 44 countries attending. These visitors enjoyed the superb new and iconic facilities at the Welsh National Sailing Academy and Events Centre, including the spectacular sea and mountain views and now the 'Best Sailor's Bar in the World'!
The events generated 33,000 bed nights and a fantastic £3.2M into the local economy. A truly international sailor's bar at the heart of Welsh Sailing with a warm welcome for everybody.
