CHPSC News:

After a night of rain, the skies cleared for the 2020 "Pwllheli Regatta" races last Saturday, with the IRC class starting a 13 mile race at 10:45 with a beat to the West End mark and then on to an SCYC mark SW of Llanbedrog (with thanks to SCYC for  permission), followed by a run to  PSC 10 near Pen Y Chain,  and back to the finish. With a steady 10 kt breeze this class was won by Stephen Williams  "Darling XX" from Andrew Hall "Jackknife", with 6 boats competing.

In NHC three boats competed starting at 11:00 with a PSC  9-mile "fixed marks" course set,  with a windward/leeward track followed by a triangular lap, this class was won by Alan Barton "Induna" ahead of Dave Sharp in "Blue Sky" - A pleasant couple of hours racing, and the regatta trophies will be awarded at the Christmas Ball.

Thanks to the course setting group (Mark, Sam and Glenn) and race management, including final course tweaking , by Robin and Eilir Evans

Planning for the "Stripped Down" Spinlock IRC Welsh National Championships continues, and entries are invited as early as possible, so we can manage both the pontoons and catering arrangements at Plas Heli. Full details, entry forms and useful resources  at the event website here   It promises to be three great days of racing in Tremadog bay.

CHIPAC  (Clwb Hwylio Ieuenctid Pwllheli A'r Cylch) - our youth sailing section - have finished their preparations and protocols following the lockdown, and start their 2020 activities tonight. With high water at 18:00 there should be good views of our young sailors training  in the bay from the Plas Heli balcony. These young sailors are the future of the sport we enjoy, and its so rewarding to support them.

It is with great sadness we mark the passing of Don Thatcher - the Club burgee is at half-mast.  Don was Commodore of Clwb Hwylio Pwllheli Sailing Club from 1984 to 1985. With his wife Rita and family, they were active members of the club for many years, sailing their Moody 30, Don Phillipe.

"Back to Boating" - Task Force Update

Vice Commodore Gerallt Williams, our Task Force leader reported as follows:

"Track and Trace" is an essential element of our back to boating protocol, and one that is mandated for the leisure sector by Welsh Government. We have two track and trace email addresses, one for the Bar as highlighted below (Mae'r cyfeiriad e-bost hwn wedi'i warchod rhag robotiaid sbam. Rhaid i chi alluogi JavaScript i'w weld.) and one for the compound and pontoons (Mae'r cyfeiriad e-bost hwn wedi'i warchod rhag robotiaid sbam. Rhaid i chi alluogi JavaScript i'w weld.) - it only takes a few seconds with a smart phone to record your visit, this helps us comply with COVID regulations, and you are assured we  operate strict data protection protocols.

* If you are, or intend being a user of the Plas Heli pontoons, please read and adhere to the pontoon protocols which are available here *

* If you are, or intend being a user of the Plas Heli compound for dinghy sailing, please read and adhere to the Plas Heli compound protocol - available here *
