Flag Officers Friday News

With some settled weather recently, many members  have embarked on cruises to destinations including the Scilly Islands, Southern Ireland and beyond, with many others just enjoying the stunning sailing waters locally after a tough couple of years.

We welcome Gerwyn Owen  to Glan Don - Gerwyn was recently CEO of RYA Cymru Wales, and  has now started his new role with Cyngor Gwynedd Council as the Marina and Harbour commercial manager.

Gerwyn has been a greater supporter of both our club and Plas Heli, and we look forward to working closely with him for the benefit of all harbour users.

In two weeks time  we welcome the SuperNova dinghy class to Plas Heli, and we still seek volunteers who are able to help, particularly safety boat drivers and crew. Please contact the Flag Officers at Mae'r cyfeiriad e-bost hwn wedi'i warchod rhag robotiaid sbam. Rhaid i chi alluogi JavaScript i'w weld. if able to help out in any capacity.

Sean and Kellie continue to offer some delicious food offerings in Plas Heli, please take a look at the video showcasing whats on offer

Plas Heli is now able to offer camping pitches, on a recently turfed area of the compound, in addition to the new motor home and caravan pitchs in both the compound and quayside.  These pitches  can be booked via the Plas Heli website here

Racing -  CHPSC boats "Jackknife" "Mojito" and "Jac Y Do" completed a tough 120 mile ISORA race in Ireland last weekend in a strong gusty westerly wind, and big seas out at the M2 buoy. The reduced field of 10 boats experienced anything from 5-30kts of winds, squalls and spent much time reefing and un-reefing sails. All three boats cemented their positions in the three ISORA classes. Race report in Afloat.ie here

Good luck to the teams on J125 "Jackknife" and Elan 350 "Finally" competing in the 704nm Round Ireland race - that starts from Wicklow tomorrow, and to team Quattro on their way to Ireland for next weeks Bangor Town Regatta and Sigma 33 nationals.

Club racing continues with the Summer series starting tomorrow.

What ever activities you have planned, have a great weekend, and enjoy the warm weather.
