CHPSC News:
With fine weather last weekend, many members took advantage of the easing of travel restrictions and enjoyed some great sailing and time on the water. Fantastic to see the bay full of activity.
An ad hoc "race rally" was devised for Saturday the 11th, and in a gentle 8 kts NW breeze, a fleet of 9 boats took part in a race around St Tudwal's/Carreg Y Trai, which also qualified for the commodore's challenge. "Jackknife" won the overall and class 1, with second overall and winner of class 2 "Pastime of Hamble". A very enjoyable race for the shorthanded and solo crews, in champagne sailing conditions. The Flag Offices held meetings with RYA Cymru Wales to influence Government regulations and provide our recommendations for the boating sector.
Planning for the "Stripped Down" IRC Welsh Nationals continues, following a Zoom meeting with the RYA and Race Management from the Royal Dee Yacht Club who co-host the event with us. An updated notice of race will be published next week.
