It is with sadness that we mark the passing of King Constantine II, the Patron of Clwb Hwylio Pwllheli Sailing Club, and the last King of Greece.
On 31st May 1982 King Constantine was the guest of honour at the formal opening ceremony of our Club's second home, at Gimblet Rock, when he officially declared the new club house open.
King Constantine also presented the Club with the fabulous 'King Constantine Cup' which has been awarded every year to the winner of the most challenging of our long bay races.
In 2002 the King Constantine Cup was won by Nigel Ingram's Wild Haggis for the CHPSC/ISORA Night Race. See previous winners here.
We receive a Christmas Card from King Constantine every year, and these are proudly displayed in our trophy cabinets.
