The development of 'Sports-Boat Racing' and 'Dry Berth Sailing' for Trailer Sailors in Pwllheli was always an aspiration for CHPSC and Plas Heli , and a crane was included in the original plans for the facility in the early development and planning stages.
The proposed crane, pontoons and storage ashore 'dry berth' are a perfect combination for this objective.
Plas Heli has with assistance from the Commodore developed a Sports Boat - Trailer Sailor Package 'Dry Berth Contracts' with an Annual or Seasonal option.
The installation of the crane on 'Cei Yr Heli' (the quayside) in March 2023 was the last piece of the jigsaw to enable a Sports-Boat Class to thrive.

A crane was an integral part of the original plans for the Academy facility from the early development and planning stages.
The installation of the crane on 'Cei Yr Heli' (the quayside) in March 2023 is the last piece of the jigsaw to enable a Sports-Boat Class to thrive. Indeed, we have already received reports of a few J70's arrived and ready for sailing!
The crane, pontoons and storage ashore are a perfect combination for Dry Berth Sailing and Plas Heli has now developed a 'sports-boat package' to help established a fleet and encourage a momentum of growth for all types of sports boats fleets.
