This year CHIPAC got off to a slow start due to poor weather conditions locally resulting in training in the hall rather than on the water at the beginning of the season.
Despite the slow start the enthusiasm of both the student and instructors shone through to overcome any difficulties.
The beginners group progressed during the season to achieve level 1 standard, the certificates will be awarded to each individual at an evening to be arranged in the new year.
The more advanced group has progressed well refining their sailing skills and achieving level 2.
During the season fun games have been introduced such as chase the rabbit, tag and fun racing, with all taking part in capsize and recovery and getting used to sailing in stronger winds.
Different dinghies have been introduced with great success, there has been great competition to sail the 2 RS teras, so we have purchased another one with another planned for next year.
Plans for next year include, level 3 for the advanced group with race coaching for those interested in taking their sailing to the next level, progressing to taking part in competition and competing in open meetings.
We have several national championships taking place at the club in which we could enter crews, including the GP14 worlds in 2024.
For this we are looking at CHIPAC acquiring a competitive GP and entering a crew.
Other possibilities for 2023 included keelboat training during the season as well as the annual introduction to keel boats to be held as a taster at the beginning of the season.
We are encouraging club members and parents who wish to assist or instruct to make themselves known so that they can become involved and be trained.
I'd like to finish with a big thank you to all the volunteers who have made this season possible and to the enthusiasm to develop their sailing skills and knowledge further, by the students.

The Summer sailing season runs from early April to the end of October each year. However, for the keen young sailor wishing to maintain or progress their sailing and racing skills throughout the winter season, Pwllheli Sailing Club participates in the North Wales Winter Open Training Programme in conjunction with RYA Cymru Wales.
Six race training days are offered to junior and youth sailors at Pwllheli Sailing Club spanning the winter season for just £15 per session.
The Summer sailing season culminates in a celebration, with a Summer Junior Regatta. During this fun event, sailors compete for prizes in a one-day junior racing series, followed by a prize-giving ceremony and BBQ. Throughout the Summer season, CHIPAC members can represent TEAM CHIPAC, at the regional junior sailing competitions (The CYRC Series: Club Youth Racing Circuit) or at the North Wales On-Board Festival at Bala during the first weekend in September.
