B‍ore Da - Good Morning

Welcome to this May Edition of the CHPSC e-newsletter.

The excellent May and early June weather certainly lead to lots of boating activity in the bay, with some local and longer distance cruising.

The Feva nationals was held over the bank holiday weekend, and attracted a large fleet, who enjoyed a great championship, further details can be found here

Club racing continued with both the spring and summer series, with Finally and Crud yr Awel leading each series respectively, and PSC boats have been involved in RORC races (Pata Negra - Andrew Hall and team ) and ISORA races (Jackknife/Jac Y Do/Gelert/Panache/ZigZag/Mojito and Jezebel  including a fast Dun Laoghaire to Dingle race - congratulations to Mojito. Peter Dunlop and Vicky Cox for the class win.

Jac Y Do -  Mark and Phil completed the first leg of the 2400nm AZAB race, and start leg 2 on Tuesday 20 th June - further information here.

Jezebel and Panache are also competing in the three peaks yacht race, which draws to a close this week.

Looking ahead, we have a team representing our club in the Royal Yacht Squadron Commodore invitational challenge in July at Cowes, and we wish our team the best of luck.

July 22nd sees us holding the 'Regata Pwllheli Regatta', and we have a fun pursuit race organised, with Golden Globe sailor Ian Herbert-Jones as our guest race officer, followed by a parade of boats, and after a BBQ on the Plas Heli deck with live music. It would be great to see as many people as possible at Plas Heli to enjoy a fun relaxed day, both on and off the water.

We received help from the RS Feva parents to lay the beach mats and we now need your help to re-set the beach mats following a path clearance by the Council. If you are available, please send an e-mail via the link below.

That’s it for this month, and we wish all members safe and successful cruising and racing, and of course enjoy the spectacular sailing waters locally, or a drink at Plas Heli to enjoy the amazing views of Eryri and Yr Wyddfa and discuss recent sailing adventures with friends.

‍Plas Heli 2023 - Facility Improvements and Events

Plas Heli and CHPSC will host an impressive list of seven National Championships and events this year (with more enquiries being received), these are listed below, and also in the Plas Heli Prospectus (click on the image). 

‍Other events for this year include a car rally, radio show, Prosiect Pum Mil, and an artisan market.

Our programme of site improvements continue with new drains and taps in the main compound and a new tap point next to the grass area for tents.

You will notice more ground-works started on Cei Heli  (quayside). This work will include, but not limited to the following:

The crane will be removed from site for a few weeks for warranty related works. We regret any inconvenience caused.

‍The above works will also facilitate our project to provide CCTV and WiFi on the Plas Heli Pontoons.

Our utility costs have escalated in a most alarming way and we look at all members and guests to be careful with their use of electricity and water. Please refer to the Fair Use Policy.

Our next really big event is the Topper Nationals starting on 5th August. If you want to help by being a volunteer email CHPSC Commodore above or Plas Heli below. 

‍‍CHIPAC - YOUTH SAILING

Your CHIPAC organisers and instructors are already hard at work, busy planning our best season so far!

Of course, we will also be running our highly acclaimed beginners courses, starting as soon as the weather allows.

‍CHPSC - Membership Renewal Process 

The on-line membership process for your 2023 membership is easy, and we are available to assist if, in the unlikely event, you get stuck!

Please note below your 'username' usually the e-mail address that you used to apply for membership. 

The second piece of information you require is your password, this is usually set to your membership number as shown on the back of your membership card.

Now proceed to the 'Members Area - Log In' page on the Web Site - see the link below. Then follow the steps outlined here:

• First Log-in the gold-coloured box (put a tick in ‘remember me’).
  • To Log-in Use your e-mail (as above) as your ‘username’ and
  • Then use your password - this is usually your membership number on the back of your membership card - unless you have changed the default. Remember to use all five digits. e.g., 005433 
    
• When you are logged in – the page will let you know that you are logged in.
• Being Logged in does not mean you have an 'Active' membership. 
• Now back to the 'Top Menu' – choose ‘Membership Options’
• Scroll down, and choose the membership category that matches your requirements 'Primary', 'Joint', 'Racing', etc. - press green ‘subscribe’ to take you to the next page.
• Update your details and then choose any 'extras' such as a parking permit on the quay side (if required) and dinghy storage, burgee, calendar postage, and much more.
• Remember to put a tick in the ‘Terms and Conditions’ box.
• Then the green ‘SUBSCRIBE’ button.
• Then you will be taken to the PayPal payment page where you can pay with your bank card or your PayPal account (if you have one) – give it time to link back to our web site after making the payment.

When you are taken to the PayPal web site you will see the following options - screen where you can choose to log in to your PayPal account OR Pay by your bank debit/credit card (no need to have a PayPal Account!).

Please contact Stephen on the 'Troubleshooting' e-mail link below if you need assistance with any part of this process (including a membership log in reset), and please let us know if you experience any difficulties.
