The S4C talk show Cadw Cwmni Gyda John Hardy will focus on the power and persuasion of the sea on Monday 24 February (9.30pm, English subtitles available).

Broadcaster John Hardy will welcome three guests who know about the unyielding force of the waves.

Yachtsman Richard Tudor from Pwllheli is highly respected all over the world.

And there’s no wonder as he had sailed around the world twice on the most difficult sea route; from the west against the wind.

He is also instrumental in the development of Pwllheli marina as a major maritime centre.

The heroic real life stories of the Moelfre Lifeboat crew on Anglesey are also retold on the show.

John Hardy’s two guests have close connections with the crew who helped the sailors of the sinking Cardiff steamer Hindlea on the treacherous rocks of east Anglesey.

For David Owens and Margaret Roberts, the events of a dark October day in 1959 are very much alive
